Forgiveness: A Journey to Wholeness
(Click here to go back to group retreats)

Growing up, I loved to watch movies of the legendary escape artist Harry Houdini perform his mind boggling feats. Harry made escaping from the mightiest mass of heavy chains and numerous enormous locks appear to be as “easy as pie”…well actually easier than pie, I think pie would have required more effort!

Although it was easy as it was for Harry to escape the chains, most of us have spent a lot of time in chains that appear nearly impossible to escape. The chains of unforgiveness and hurt often appear impenetrable.

Harry Houdini was able to escape because he held the key (the locks keys or lock picks were often concealed in his mouth or another undetectable area). When it comes to breaking free from the chains of unforgiveness we too hold the key… only we can unlock the massive locks and gigantic chains!

“Forgiveness: A Journey to Wholeness” spends significant time allowing the Holy Spirit to work through difficult times in our lives. This is not an easy workshop where you go home feeling lighthearted and lifted…this is a potentially painful workshop, but it is one where you go home feeling free because you go home knowing you hold the key!

“I just want to forget!” It doesn't work that way…forgetting isn't forgiving. When we choose to not forgive those who have harmed us we also choose to cut ourselves off from an intimate relationship with God. When we don't forgive we damage our relationship with God…the only one who can forgive us. Matthew 6:14-15 says: For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Come join us as we look at forgiveness…we explore why it hurts to carry those “hot rocks,” how to reframe the issue, why we need to forgive (physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually) and some steps to practical applications.

No matter what size issue we are dealing with, because of the intense nature of this seminar we specifically allow a great deal of what we call “Holy Spirit time” where we allow him to work with you one on one. Also because of the character of the topic we require you to enlist a dedicated prayer partner for you as God works through this weekend.

Big or small we all have chains of unforgiveness. Everyone can benefit from this workshop…we tend to dismiss the ”small stuff” and excuse the “big stuff”, but God wants us to confront and forgive it, no matter what size we think it is…it's all big to God because it destroys our relationship with Him! God wants you to be set free…it's not easy but it sure is worth the effort…crawl up on the Father's lap and be comforted!
